Job Summary

About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, Engineering and Construction Division (E&C). The St. Paul District E&C designs water resource projects to benefit the people of Minnesota, western Wisconsin, northeastern North Dakota, portions of South Dakota and Iowa, and the nation. These projects support inland navigation, flood risk management, and environmental restoration. E&C also provides emergency response to disasters.

Basic Requirement for Architect 0808 Series: For basic qualifications, please refer to the opm link for All professional Architect, 0808 series. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting all of the following: 1) Manage program resources, such as workload, staffing, budgets, or contracts, to support organizational objectives; 2) direct engineering design work for complex projects, including planning, coordinating, or reviewing engineering activities; and 3) lead professional staff by assigning work, evaluating performance, and/or providing technical or administrative guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). "Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted". Selective Placement Factor: The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain license/registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect. This license/registration must be in good standing and issued by any one of the 50 states, or its territories: (Note: You are required to submit your up-to-date license (PE) license from any state or territory with your applicant package.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Design Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
