Job Description
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript. OPM General Schedule Qualification Standards - GS-0800 Series - https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#0800 Specialized Experience: GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with the design of civil engineering projects and writing and reviewing engineering related reports to ensure compliance with requirements. GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes working on projects with regular guidance from senior engineers, collecting data through field activities, and assisting with the preparation of reports, plans, and other project documentation. GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in making field inspections, investigations, and recommend plans for collecting technical data needed to determine the elements of the water budget utilizing a highly developed knowledge of professional engineering practices, theories, and methodology of hydrology and hydraulics and meteorology relating to the control, supply, and conservation of water resources.
