Job Summary

About the Position: Serves as Resident Engineer and responsible for the overall management and supervision of military and host nation construction programs within the assigned Resident Office and area of responsibility. This position will be filled as permanent, but the overseas assignment will be temporary in nature. Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience Requirement: One year of specialized experience which includes: approving shop drawings for internal/external personnel; enforcing terms of contracts and their intricacies; managing construction projects; resolving problems; and interfacing with host government officials on compliance with laws/regulations. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). NO SUBSTITUTION FOR EXPERIENCE: Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet both the Basic Requirement and the Specialized Experience requirement--no substitution of education for specialized experience is permitted. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires the incumbent to be registered as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
