Job Description
This job announcement will fill multiple vacancies at the full performance levels (FPLs) of GS-11 and GS-12. In your application you will select all full performance grade level and location combinations you want to be considered for. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To Qualify for the Full Performance Level GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service that must include one of the following: Participates in or conducts studies that assess the operational capabilities of civil works projects such as facilities, structures, or navigation features; Reviews and develops plans, costs, and specifications to confirm they meet project requirements, codes, and technical standards; Develops long range plans and preventive maintenance schedules that support continued operation of facilities, equipment, or utility systems; Collects data such as hydrographic or topographic surveys, construction schedules, or material test results that support engineering studies and project decisions. To Qualify for the Full Performance Level GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that includes one of the following: Leads or facilitates studies that evaluate the operational performance and requirements of civil works projects such as facilities, structures, or navigation features; Reviews and assesses contractor plans, specifications, and technical submissions to confirm compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards; Develops long range plans and preventive maintenance schedules that support the reliable operation of facilities, equipment, or utility systems; Oversees the collection and use of technical data such as hydrographic or topographic surveys, construction schedules, or material test results to support engineering studies, condition assessments, or contract actions. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent: For GS-11 - must have 52 weeks at the GS-10 or equivalent For GS-12 - must have 52 weeks at the GS-11 or equivalent
