The DLS operates as a Supply Funded retail and wholesale distribution center in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Job Description

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/11/2026. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work requires regular and recurring physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and similar activities in and around distribution areas on a concrete floor. Routinely lifts and carries items that weigh up to the maximum allowable weight for common carriers (UPS, FEDEX, US Postal Service, etc.) - normally up to 70 pounds. Extended periods of intense concentration are required to insure the accuracy and timeliness of the work product. Employee typically works in an indoor environment involving everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting rooms. Observance of normal safety practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations is required. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work may require wearing of protective clothing, such as steel-toes shoes, masks, gloves, etc. The employee is regularly exposed to the possibility of minor cuts, scrape, bruises, and abrasions. Requires assembly and disassembly of industrial steel shelving, furniture, and equipment as assigned.
