Job Summary

This position is located within the Gulf Winds Golf Course, Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service area that require light ot moderate physical effort.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding of basic food handling techniques. Ability to follow oral instructions and perform routine manual tasks involving few steps. Must use judgment in sequencing tasks and be able to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction when serving several people at a time. Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards and simple food handling techniques. Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling techniques. Must have a working knowledge how to operate and clean the coffee machines. Must be able to follow and relay instructions. Exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting both customers and employees. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
