Job Summary
The Administrative Officer provides oversight, coordination, and execution of administrative, financial, human resources, and operational functions to support high-quality, Veteran centered ambulatory care delivery. The AO works collaboratively with all clinical, nonclinical and ancillary CBOC leadership, in conjunction with the Assistant Director and Nurse Manager (NM) to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and continuous performance improvement.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/31/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-341-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track suspense's on items such as project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies. Obtains and monitors the use of services, supplies, or equipment for the offices. Justifies and requests replacements for outdated equipment by identifying the outdated equipment, gathering relevant information on office equipment, or requesting office equipment for own work area. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences. Independently schedules the Chief and staff members' time based on a knowledge of preferences and current commitments. Works with other facility Administrative Officers, Managers and Supervisors in identifying opportunities for improvement, defining audit topics and criteria for Performance Appraisals, and reviewing the documentation generated to assure compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (TJC), CARF, and other accreditation standards, Medical Center and other legal and regulatory guidelines. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully complete a, master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position. OR Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond. You must have a combination of specialized experience and One year of full-time graduate education beyond the first 18 semester hours of a course of study leading to a master's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk, although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. The Administrative Officer works with a computer screen and keyboard. The employee will spend some time walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs, and carrying some light items. Stamina and concentration to meet crucial deadlines is required.
