This position is for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS) and supported catchment area.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet Time-In-Grade and Specialized Experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 11/12/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted State driver's license, have a safe driving record, and demonstrate that he or she is medically qualified to operate the appropriate motor vehicle safely. Applicants are required to pass agency Government Vehicle Drivers physical examination. NOTE: We cannot accept photographs, therefore; please do not submit a copy of your driver's license with your application package. If an interview is requested, you may be required to provide a copy of your valid state-issued driver's license. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this Lead Supply Technician position. Specialized experience includes: Distributing supplies and materials, including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment, to all areas of the facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distribution of supplies and materials; assists in training new employees; maintains current knowledge and answers questions on procedures, policies, etc.; maintains stock by pulling stock, replenishing stock, and maintaining records on stock levels; monitors expiration dates and rotates stock; cleans assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; and receives supplies and material into the facility.
