Job Summary
The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is seeking a Canteen Chief/Registered Dietitian for our Martinez, CA location. This position will be responsible for all areas of the canteen's operations, including the cafe, retail store, vending sales, merchandise accountability, and overall canteen management. The Canteen Chief will also oversee the administration of the inpatient dining program, providing 3 meals a day, 365 days a year, to the Veteran patients of the Martinez VA Medical Center.Job Description
Requires current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), with a minimum of 1 year of experience. Verification of credentials must be provided. Able to demonstrate successful operating accomplishments and possess excellent leadership and managerial skills. Skill in applying nutritional knowledge to ensure menus meet nutrition standards. Ability to utilize Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice Guidelines to develop, implement, and coordinate best practices and to ensure compliance. A proven leader who can effectively plan, organize, delegate, direct, control, and review activities and performance.
