Clinical Simulation provides safe educational opportunities to staff allowing practical revelations, experiential learning, safe applications of clinical methods, & continuous healthcare improvements providing personalized, proactive, patient driven health care.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/09/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: conducting simulation training and all of its functions, programming requirements, processes, and procedures in order to instruct others, troubleshoot user and technical problems, and access or launch simulated courses; and presenting ideas clearly both orally and in writing to effectively present findings and make recommendations in briefings, projects, staff reports, correspondence, etcetera. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 full year of graduate level education, or, superior academic achievement (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 1 full year of graduate level education, or, superior academic achievement (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). Physical Demands: The work requires physical effort. There will be walking, standing, bending, carrying of items such as task trainers, manikins, boxes of training equipment, movement of equipment such as beds, overbed tables, chairs, etc. Typically, the employee will configure the simulation center or in-situ area to meet the requirement of the simulation activity that will take place. The work will require walking and lifting as indicated below: 1. Walking-required to become familiar with the Medical Center and location of training locations; 2. Lifting-Simulation equipment that may weigh in excess of 50 pounds; 3. Transport-movement of equipment throughout the Medical Center and to, from and throughout the outlying areas. Major Duties section Continuation: Maintain simulation center documentation and resources by developing, serving as a Subject Matter Expert and adhering to operational policies/standards, procedure simulation support materials, create and generate simulation center reports, and direct media development related to simulation. Maintain professional development by keeping updated on simulation technology, simulation related competencies, participating in simulation education, research and providing workshops and tours. Prepares CERC Committee, OIG and JACHO reports as necessary for required clinical training programs.
