Job Summary
This position serves as a Health Science Specialist in the Million Veteran Program (MVP) providing oversight for the program which reports directly to the Deputy Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance of the (MVP) office located at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA.
Job Description
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: You must possess a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application. In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must also meet the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) directly related to processes for conducting research, creating and documenting processes to ensure research compliance, and performing quality assurance management activities, such as auditing of processes related to executing research protocols. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform portions of the work. However, there is periodic walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as medical records, instructional material, books and manuals. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
