Job Summary
The Credentialing Program Assistant is assigned to the Medical Staff Office, which is under the Chief of Staff at a VA Medical Center (VAMC) and is responsible for providing administrative and technical direction and support to the credentialing and privileging (C&P) operations.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify at the GS-6 level if you possess the following qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of Specialized Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level. Specialized experience includes: providing guidance/advice to providers, staff, and management regarding the credentialing and privileging process; collecting, compiling, and tracking data; preparing reports; and utilizing knowledge of state licensure and medical specialty board requirements to verify credentials. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
