Job Summary
This position is in the Surgical Services for the VA Central Ohio Healthcare System, which is comprised of both VA Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC) and five community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). Works collaboratively with the Chief of Surgery, Assistant Chiefs of Surgery, Service Section Chiefs, Health Systems Specialist, Group Practice Management, Informatics, and Medical Support Assistant Supervisor in providing administrative oversight to the 14 sub-sections within Surgery.
Job Description
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-11 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the Federal Service that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the Administrative Officer position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes conducting in-depth data analysis and strategic planning; serving as the primary point of contact for all external communication related to drafting, reviewing, and managing all external correspondence; and creating standard operating procedures, administrative policies and directives. NOTE: Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. We will not make assumptions regarding experience. ~OR~ EDUCATION: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
