Job Summary
The Supervisory Budget Analyst is the Budget Officer responsible for supervision of the Budget Section within Finance Service at the West Texas Veterans Health Care System (WTVHCS) in Big Spring, TX.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, all applicants must meet the following requirement: Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties the Supervisory Budget Analyst - Budget Officer position. Typically, this work would be found within the fields of finance, budget and/or accounting; provided knowledge of, and skill in applying, budget and finance principles, practices, and methods of budget execution and knowledge of organizational structure, programs, and work methods, examining budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations; analyzing budgeting and accounting reports; overseeing budget expenditures; preparing financial analyses comparing actual costs incurred; preparing reports sufficient to provide advice to staff members and management. Specialized experience also includes supervising and leading a team of budget staff, providing workload, disciplinary actions and performance standards. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Database Management Systems Financial Management Information Management Problem Solving IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is mainly sedentary, although at times may require some standing, bending, walking, carrying light items such as paper, books, files, boxes, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
