Job Summary

Employee will serve as an Accounting Technician within Fiscal Services located at the West Texas Veterans Administration Healthcare System (WTVAHCS) in Big Spring, TX. Will also provide Accounting support for the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes applying financial regulations and procedures, accounting codes and terminology to enter and maintain general ledgers, conduct account reconciliations and balance fund control points, resolve discrepancies, process payments; and using financial/accounting computer systems/databases. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: work is mostly a sedentary nature, but some bending, stooping, lifting (less than 40 pounds) and standing are required. The employee must be mentally alert.
