This position serves as the Green Environmental Systems Manager for the Lexington VA Health Care System, located in Lexington, Kentucky and is organizationally reporting to the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, under the Associated Director.

To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 9) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties (Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.): Maintains documentation to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pollution control regulations.; Develops and implements quality control and quality assurance practices for existing processes as well as for any new processes introduced or modified.; Functions as Subject Matter Expert on any new and emerging contaminant and pollution issues and is expected to coordinate all associated activities with reducing, removing, and preventing pollution.; Participate in sustainability evaluations that cover a wide variety of environmental aspects and will oversee other environmental investigations or remedial actions.; Manages environmental permits, ensuring that permits are written, followed, and modified as needed and completes all required actions to avoid violating permit requirements. -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. -OR- COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (beyond 18 semester hours) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses directly related to the work of this position.
