Job Summary

This position is located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Job Description

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. - For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. - For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. - For positions in School-Age facilities, the education must have been in any of the fields above. AND Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: Minimum of 24 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child/youth development, which must include 12 months of demonstrated experience in managing an entire cycle of operation of a CYS facility to include budgeting, facility management, supply management, program development, program implementation, curriculum oversight, hiring selections, training and supervision of personnel. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Candidates possessing a minimum of 1 year of specialized leadership experience directly within an Army CYS School-Age Care (SAC) program.
