Job Summary
This position is located at School Age Center, McAlester, OK. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child:25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid.
Job Description
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. - For positions in School-Age facilities, the education must have been in any of the fields above. OR one of the following: Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position. 2. The McCormick Credential. OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred:" Posses BOTH of the following: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a National Credentialing body [Example: Council of Accreditation (COA), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)] Work experience with 4-H and Boys & Girls Club of America programs This experience must be clearly defined on your resume to be considered for Highly Preferred status.
