Job Description
To Qualify for GS-11: You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-09 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in assisting with formulating an office budget; assisting in preparing narratives for budget or amending prior year narratives; assisted in the Federal budget process and application of laws and guidelines which define and govern the operations of federal agencies in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the Federal budget. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related OR You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications. To Qualify for GS-12: You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in formulating an office budget; demonstrated experience in preparing narratives for budget presentation to Congress; experience in the Federal budget process and application of laws and guidelines which define and govern the operations of federal agencies in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the Federal budget. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by close of this announcement.
