MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Alabama Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. MINIMUM MILITARY RANK: 1LT MAXIMUM MILITARY RANK: MAJ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Each applicant must fully substantiate (in his/her own words) that he/she meets the requirements of the Specialized Experience listed below: Otherwise, the applicant will be considered unqualified for this position. DO NOT COPY THE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT OR THE POSITION DESCRIPTION. DOING SO MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POSITION. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: -- Knowledge and skill to solve a broad range of program relationships and significant expertise and depth in the specialty areas worked in to solve major issues and problems that are complex and/or controversial, using a wide range of program area concepts, practices, etc. Work requires independent analysis to resolve difficult issues and problems in the assigned areas of responsibility. -- The incumbent must use knowledge of interrelated support processes to coordinate the objectives and plans for several specialized programs (command supply discipline program, command maintenance discipline program and other directed command inspection programs) in order to provide options and recommendations to meet differing or conflicting program requirements. -- The position also requires knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies and precedents that affect the program areas and the ability to deal with major issues to meet program goals and objectives. -- The incumbent is considered the major authoritative source of knowledge for organizations supported.
