In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes providing supply operations support to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage. Knowledge of governing supply instructions, procedures, guidelines, and regulations applicable to specific assignments or functional areas. 2. Knowledge of supply support procedures, equipment management, stock control, and mobility account procedures. 3. Knowledge of standard supply management procedures applicable to specific assignments or functional area. 4. Ability to use and maintain a computer system and supply software. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to maintain good working relationships. 6. Skill in resolving logistics supply problems. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS PERTAINING TO THIS POSITION ARE: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTAs). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an Air Reserve Technician Enlisted position. Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
