INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: In order to qualify, applicants must meet the education requirement listed in the Education section below. Must submit relevant transcripts! In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is professional knowledge of electronics engineering policies, theories, principles and concepts, and familiarity with other engineering disciplines to carry out conventional engineering assignments. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Superior academic achievement at the baccalaureate level in an engineering program is qualifying for GS-7. Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing (Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision), (2) grade-point average (Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum.), or (3) honor society membership (Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies). NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. Ideal Candidate: Experience in aircraft instrumentation design, modification, and installation, specifically with F-15/F-16 aircraft is highly preferred. Experience leading technical teams. Proven ability to manage projects within budget and schedule constraints. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Ability to brief technical information to diverse audiences, including high-ranking officials. Understanding of airworthiness and safety regulations for military air vehicles. Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and engineering disciplines. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for developing and processing instrumentation design requirements is desired. Ability to overcome new challenges which are not always of a technical nature KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Professional knowledge of electronics engineering policies, theories, principles and concepts, and familiarity with other engineering disciplines to carry out conventional engineering assignments. 2. Ability to analyze, interpret and apply electronics engineering rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to senior engineers. 3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 4. Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
