Job Description
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WL-10 - Training leaders must have the ability to lead 3 or more workers in performing trades and labor training assignments, including as a paramount requirement sufficient skill in and knowledge of the trades and labor occupation or work in which training is given to effectively carry out the duties of training leaders. Training leaders also must have, as a second requirement, practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction. Experience or training that demonstrates a knowledge of electrical theory such as power factors and that which is applicable to transformers, series and parallel circuits, line loading, line losses, etc. Ability to read and comprehend circuit diagrams and schematics. Experience in installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying high-voltage electrical systems and major substation components of electrical systems. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems. Experience in making high-voltage electrical repairs that required the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools.
