In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C WG-6600 Aircraft Overhaul Family QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook Federal Wage System (FWS) for the WG-6600 Aircraft Overhaul Family https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/federal-wage-system-qualifications/#url=WG-6600. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to do the work of an Ordnance Equipment Mechanic, WG-6641-10, without more than normal supervision (SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT). 2. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation and repair associated with Ordnance Equipment Mechanic trade such as but not limited to reprograming, testing, assembling, disassembling and performing component replacement for Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground ordnance systems; repair/maintain electromechanical servo systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electric motor systems in missile and decoy platforms and perform maintenance and inspection functional checkout and self-test on assigned stockpile munitions requiring knowledge of a wide range of electronics principles and practices. 3. Knowledge of technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) associated with Ordnance Equipment Mechanic trade such as but not limited to performing maintenance and inspection functional checkout and self-test on assigned stockpile munitions requiring knowledge of a wide range of electronics principles and practices. 4. Ability to use and maintain tools, equipment associated with Ordnance Equipment Mechanic such as but not limited to performing set-up procedures and cable testing on multiple computer test set systems and software to isolate defects in a variety of standard and nonstandard equipment. 5. Ability To interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprints reading) associated with Ordnance Equipment Mechanic such as but not limited to packing/re-packing ordnance for preservation, moisture abatement and safe storage according to special packaging instructions and applies required container markings to meet exacting standards. 6. Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance, repair, replacement of various light and heavy machinery and vehicles such as but not limited to fault isolation on precision guidance systems tracing electrical signal paths through wiring harness and circuit connections of components, assemblies and subassemblies to include circuit board testing, removal and installation. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA) weekends. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. Applicants for ART positions must currently be a member of the Air Force Reserve or willing and eligible to join the Air Force Reserves. This position may be designated as mission essential based on local conditions in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 3020-42. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting and remain on duty during phased or early release. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under The Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perforin the duties of this position.
