Under the direction of the Integrated Prevention Chief, the Prevention Analyst leads collection, analysis, interpretation, and visual implementation of data for the installation Integrated Resilience Office.
Job Description
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0101, Social Science Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: BASIC REQUIREMENT: A degree (bachelor's or higher) in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position, for example Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, etc. Note: you must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Applying a comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence and promotion of help-seeking and resilience. 2) Using knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to violence prevention and the multiple uses of such systems. 3) Providing knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face, or equivalent knowledge. 4) Applying knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions to inform prevention efforts; and the ability to formulate and conduct assessments and evaluations to implement and monitor primary prevention plans. 5) Identifying individual and community risk and protective factors to determine needed primary prevention activities to meet the needs of the base populace. 6) Providing professional advisory services, developing, and utilizing appropriate data collection techniques and designing, building, and using models and simulation techniques for prevention. 7) Working well with others in a team approach and communicate effectively, orally and in writing. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence and promotion of helping- seeking and resilience. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED IPP personnel must obtain the appropriate level of credential outlined in DAF policy for the DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP) within 90 days of hire. This credential is a condition of employment and must be maintained throughout employment within the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW) This position may include information assurance (IA) work as an additional duty. Per DoDM 8140.03, the recipient of this additional duty must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to receive the Revised proper IA certification may result in the reassignment of this additional duty to another employee within the organization
