Job Description

Bachelor¿s degree in one of the following areas: Health & Human Performance, Exercise and Sport Science / Physiology, Human Factors, physical education, Physical Therapy, Physical Education or Athletic Training Sport and Performance Psychology / Behavioral Sports Psychology OR other fields related to health, wellness, performance, and primary prevention. Masters¿ Degree or higher preferred AND 3 years of experience actively coaching teams AND a minimum of three years of supervisory/ management experience of a health and human performance program designed for military, first responder, high school or professional human performance environments and an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent gained in the above. Certification or license from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association / Master Strength and Conditioning Coach OR the National Strength and Conditioning Association is required. Advanced certification such as Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP), Certified Athletic Training (ATC) or equivalent education and certifications approved by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies to include but not limited to National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) OR the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) via American Psychology Association (APA: CSPA /ACPS) is preferred. Skill and ability to manage complex health and human performance programs such as strength and conditioning, performance education, performance/ sport psychology and science, sports medicine, sports science, and health sciences. Knowledge of health and human performance and the integration of physical performance and resilience. Ability to conduct multiprogram analysis and manage projects associated with adaptation and sustainment of comprehensive health and human performance programs. Skill to establish new or updated methods of program operations and the development of long and short-term plans based on the needs of the customer, budgetary guidelines and policy. Knowledge of human-performance or athletic programs structures, program implementation methodologies, and the establishment and review of standard operating procedures associated with human performance in a military or athletic environment. Knowledge of financial management and the budget process associated with various funding streams such as appropriated and non-appropriated funds and sponsorship. Skill and ability to communicate orally and in writing with executive leaders and to speak in public forums to both small and large groups, as well as one-on-one interaction. Ability to use performance and athlete management systems and leverage the systems to improve the establishment and delivery of comprehensive human performance programs. Knowledge of program evaluations and using program evaluation analytics and outcomes to evaluate and improve health and human performance programs. Ability to develop sustainable solutions to complex issues and the ability to implement theory and methodologies related to health sciences, sports medicine, fitness, etc. Requires a valid driver¿s license.
