Job Description

Bachelor's degree, in Counseling, Human Services or a related field appropriate to the work of the position and two years of experience in the occupation. or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Knowledge of the military lifestyle and military family support programs. Knowledge of theories, methods, and practices in education, training, counseling, advising, needs assessments. interviewing, career coaching, and reviewing and writing resumes federal and private sector. Ability to interpret and apply Department of Defense and Navy and Marine Corps Orders, regulations and policy instructions, DOL and VA benefits, employment services. and related legislation. An operating knowledge of /experience with the Internet, Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint, job search and career guidance software. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to include pa1ticipation at official briefings, professional conferences, and training workshops. Ability to work independently and follow-through on assigned tasks.
