Job Description
A Bachelor's Degree in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences, exercise physiology, kinesiology, or other related curricula focused on fitness assessment, or physiological adaptation to exercise and exercise program design. Four years of experience in fitness or a health field with health education & prevention as a primary focus. Experience in planning, managing, and administering a comprehensive year round health and fitness program, and the facilities used in conducting the activities at a military installation serving a population of active duty, reservists, retired military personnel, their family members, civilians, and other authorized customers. Skill to plan, develop, organize, manage, and supervise diverse and comprehensive health and physical fitness programs, that include group exercise classes, self-directed fitness programs, incentive programs, special events, and instructional programs. Certifications in fitness, basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator, and First Aid that are kept current throughout employment. Current certification from a fitness organization/certification noted in Marine Corps Order 1700.29 Table 2-3 Competency in public speaking, professional writing for public awareness, computer literacy and metrics reporting and/or program evaluation. Physical dexterity, and ability to conduct exercise classes, stand for long periods of time, and lift, carry objects up to 45lbs. independently, and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Must be able to obtain and maintain Tier-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks, which are required for positions, which involve working with children under 18 years of age.
