Job Description

A minimum of two years of experience in military and/or recreational shooting operations and safe handling of firearms and ammunition. Must possess the skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. NRA instructor certification is preferred. Must be able to obtain instructor certification as a National Rifle Association Certified Firearm Instructor, or Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Firearms Instructor train the trainer, within 90 days of employment start date. Must be 21 years old. Knowledge of business mathematics, cash handling procedures, and merchandising methods preferred. Ability to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures and adhere to all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. FOR POSITIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS/AMMUNITION ONLY: This is a ¿covered position¿ for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Due to contact with firearms, or ammunition in accomplishing work, DD Form 2760 certifying whether a ¿qualifying conviction¿ for a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence has occurred MUST be completed. The continuing obligation to notify the immediate supervisor of any qualifying conviction through completion of DD Form 2760 is REQUIRED. Ability to successfully obtain/maintain a Tier 3 background investigation.
