Job Description
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; OR Have completed a formal vocational training program; OR Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with preference for employment rather than continuing education. (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.) A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit as well as a fork-lift operator's permit(4-6 ton forklift and 4 ton truck) is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire. Knowledge and experience in warehouse operation and warehouse safety. The incumbent must have knowledge of regulations and procedures pertaining to the receipt, storage, and accountability, and disposal of supplies and equipment purchased with both APF and NAF funding. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the functions of supply automated data base systems and ability to identify and adjust factual information, research and correct errors and discrepancies. Ability to inspect incoming items into the disposal area to determine if items are serviceable and determine if item will become available for free issue, sold at NAF sales or scrap if item contains precious metal or sent to DRMO. Knowledge of hazardous materials such as asbestos, chemicals, volatile/flammable substances, basic chemistry. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
