Job Description
Master¿s degree in one of the following fields: Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling or Behavioral Science, Education, Community Health or Public Health. Two years of experience in advocacy field working with individuals impacted by domestic abuse and sexual assault. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of and skill to serve as a Program Specialist for FAP advocates. Ability to assist in developing and providing policy that sustains mission capabilities associated with military active duty service; supports the active duty member and family; promotes prevention of problem situations that detract from unit performance and readiness, and provides appropriate level of intervention, non-medical counseling, support services, advocacy and tools to cope successfully with military 1ife. Knowledge of and experience that demonstrates skill to serve as a Social Science Program Specialist for an advocacy program at the headquarters level, and develop and implement Advocacy plans and policies that support response to family problems (including family violence) that negatively impact parenting, anger and stress management and issues of importance for couples, and detract from mission readiness. Ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, speaking). Must be able to speak coherently and professionally in front of various audience sizes and senior civilian and military leaders. Skill to: develop, coordinate, recommend and review advocacy standards and policies to enhance support and programming that strengthens client safety, awareness and engagement with resources, client empowerment and prepares and sustains capabilities of commanders, Active Duty service members and military spouses for mission readiness.
