Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of a 4-year degree in an accredited college or university with a major course of study directly related to child or youth development, elementary education or equivalent. OR, a combination of required education and work experience that provides knowledge, skills and abilities directly related to the duties described. Must be able to obtain and maintain a health card. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid SOFA driver's license. Knowledge of current accepted practices and techniques of Youth and Teen programming. Knowledge of processes of administration and the principles and standard practices of management to organize, develop and administer programs. Ability to apply sound supervisory personnel management principles and practices to the selection and supervision of staff. Ability to plan, analyze and justify the financial and physical resources of Children, Youth and Teen Programs. Ability to develop, implement and maintain a high quality school age care, youth and teen program. Ability to train, motivate and work effectively with subordinates having a variety of backgrounds, experience and training. Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing to individuals at many levels. Ability to plan, coordinate and effectively participate in events involving high level concerns. Knowledge of safety requirements for children and youth in order to assist in providing an environmental setting conductive to developmentally appropriate activities for the children and youth in care. This position is designated as a Position of Trust, and the incumbent must be eligible for a background check.
