Job Description

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Two years of recreation/leisure services experience which demonstrates the knowledge of principles, techniques, and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning, administering, and conducting recreational/outdoor activities and special events festivals. Work experience in organizing the outdoor events, festivals and activities including planning and execution of events, transporting equipment, setting up temporary stands, tents, dismantling and storing equipment to clear the area, using tools and materials. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The ability to work outdoors for extend hours. A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator¿s permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing will result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire for both 10 ton Forklift and 4 ton Truck. Must be able to perform work requiring prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and carrying objects up to 40 lbs (18 kg) independently and objects over 40 lbs (18 kg) with assistance. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include night time, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of technical areas of recreational activities such as outdoor safety and event planning. Intermediate level ability and experience in Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint. Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, tact, and problem-solving abilities, a team player and actively looking for a way to help people. Skills to communicate with all levels of command and staff, and active duty. Ability to communicate orally and in written in a clear and concise manner. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
