Job Description

A minimum of two years of experience in military and/or recreational shooting operations and safe handling of firearms and ammunition AND an NRA instructor certification is REQUIRED. Must possess the skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. The ability to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures and must adhere to all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). Must be a qualified instructor (or Army equivalent) National Rifle Association Certified Firearm Instructor, or Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Firearms Instructor) train the trainer. Basic knowledge of Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS). Knowledge of business mathematics, cash handling procedures, and merchandising methods preferred. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. (Must be 21 years old) FOR POSITIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS/AMMUNITION ONLY: This is a ¿covered position¿ for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Due to contact with firearms, or ammunition in accomplishing work, DD Form 2760 certifying whether a ¿qualifying conviction¿ for a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence has occurred MUST be completed. The continuing obligation to notify the immediate supervisor of any qualifying conviction through completion of DD Form 2760 is REQUIRED. Ability to successfully obtain/maintain a Tier 3 background investigation.
