The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Cadet Food Services (CFS) training manager; providing quality customer service to efficiently process a multitude of information, conduct and coordinate routine training program requirements, provide general advisory services, and coordinate actions related to the assigned program area.
Job Description
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series. Specialized Experience Internal Current Federal Candidates: One year of specialized experience for GS-05 grade level or higher in the federal service, which knowledge of an extensive body of rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and operations of occupational education and training programs to perform a wide variety of assignments involved in the development of food service personnel. Knowledge of the organization's operations and functions sufficient to evaluate information gathered from various sources and use basic analytical methods and techniques to determine adequacy of, or deficiencies in the scheduling function. Knowledge of the education and training program mission and objectives to perform assignments and resolve a wide range of issues using accepted practices. Specialized Experience External Candidates: One year of specialized experience for GS-06 grade/level or equivalent in the federal service, which includes knowledge of an extensive body of rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and operations of occupational education and training programs to perform a wide variety of assignments involved in the development of food service personnel. Knowledge of the organization's operations and functions sufficient to evaluate information gathered from various sources and use basic analytical methods and techniques to determine adequacy of, or deficiencies in the scheduling function. Knowledge of the education and training program mission and objectives to perform assignments and resolve a wide range of issues using accepted practices. OR EDUCATION: Have successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have combination of specialized experience and education as described above. Therefore, applicant has a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS Internal Current Federal Candidates: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Practical knowledge of a wide variety of education or training program administrative methods, techniques; and ability to apply command or installation regulations, instructions, and policies for monitoring and controlling actions in support of organization food service programs. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations, retrieve and input data; a qualified typist is not required. 3. Skill in locating, assembling, and compiling information for a variety of inquiries and/or reports. 4. Ability to use one or more established automated systems to enter, maintain, retrieve, and analyze organizational and/or program data. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
