The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Office Manager and lead facilitator across Joint Special Operations University-Enlisted Academy (JSOU-EA). Advises Enlisted Academy staff and faculty on academic administrative and management support and coordinate programs and proposes options and alternatives representing the JSOU-EA.

Job Description

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying quantitative process methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the productivity and effectiveness of programs; knowledge of administrative policies, regulations, concepts, and procedures to manage the education and academic office that affects the use of administrative programs; knowledge to plan, schedule, conduct, and facilitate administrative projects and evaluate and recommend ways to improve the productivity of administrative work operations or supporting settings; knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization; knowledge of joint military administrative structures and procedures; ability to effectively organize and analyze information, produce reports, and develop briefings that present clear and concise solutions; analyze incoming tasks; and assign tasks to the appropriate office or subject-matter expert; skill and ability of data storage and transfer capabilities. Skilled in the use of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; SharePoint, and operating system products; ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions or recommending courses of action to the Commandant, staff, and faculty. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of administrative theory, techniques, and procedures to evaluate, identifies, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in JSOU-EA organizational administrative procedures, processes, and systems. 2. Knowledge and Ability to support office operations and produces a variety of documents such as correspondence, reports, spreadsheet, and databases. 3. Knowledge in applying qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and academic programs. 4. Knowledge of JSOU Enlisted Academy structure, academic programs, and the execution of Command Continuing Education (CEP) in order to in-process students. Develops solutions and recommends courses of action alternatives to the JSOU-EA Commandant. 5. Ability to provide customer service using tact and diplomacy to Service, Joint, interagency and international senior leaders, both enlisted and officer, and other high level civilian and military personnel. 6. Ability and skill to effectively transfer and manage electronic data. Skilled on use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; SharePoint, and operating systems. Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
