Job Description
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Developing and managing Security Plans such as Physical Security; Anti-terrorism/force protection; Bomb Threats; Arms, Ammunition and Explosives; Active Shooter; Information Security; Visitor access; Facility access; and loss prevention. Managing, investigating, and documenting data breaches or malware attacks. Conducting security awareness training for employees. Utilizing technologies to support physical security programs (closed circuit TV camera systems, gate and building access control systems. NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level if you meet one of the following: A. Completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or possess a Ph.D. or equivalentdoctoral degree in a related field of study from an accredited college and/or university.One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended hasdetermined to represent one year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18semester hours will satisfy the one year of full-time study requirement.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) B. A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described in "A" above. To combine education and experience, determine the your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level (note: only graduate education in excess of 2 full years, 36 semester hours or equivalent is creditable). Finally, add two percentages.
