THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is to serve as Chief, Special Security Office for the state. Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = Officer, Warrant Officer, and Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.

Job Description

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing information security; sensitive compartmental information; special security requirements; force protection; anti-terrorism; information protection; security police training, unit deployment, and physical security. Work involves security policies, guiding principles, training requirements, and certifications. Some work in this occupation require expanded security clearances, an extensive knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing a distinct set of operational duties and responsibilities for performing security functions and handling weapons. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-09 level; AND/OR at least Thirty-six (36) months experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
