Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: General Experience: Progressively responsible management experience in hospitality, entertainment or recreational activity. Must be well organized with an attention to detail. Must possess ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have well-developed computer, organizational, time management, prioritization and writing abilities, with an aptitude for learning new skills. Demonstrated knowledge of PC computer programs including Microsoft operating system, Excel and PowerPoint required. Desired is a knowledge and experience with property and institutional management systems (Aloha/NCR, Qubica AMF, Benchmark, Sales and Catering Systems, Miracle, Central, etc.). Substitution for general experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of recreation or business management. Specialized experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant must have specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military lodging, club, restaurant, bowling or golf course operation. Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A BPAA certificate is desirable but not required.
