Job Summary
This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin, Principal Deputy Inspector General. As a Congressional Liaison, you will serve as a key advisor to agency leadership on legislative and congressional matters, providing strategic counsel and coordinating communications with Members of Congress, congressional committees, and their staff.
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Assisting with planning, designing and executing a Congressional/Legislative program to convey information on Agency or Organization programs; AND - Assisting with establishing and maintaining working relationships with congressional committees and staff; AND - Assisting with agency response to congressional requests and agency participation in congressional hearings pertaining to Agency or Organization's program; AND - Assisting with monitoring and reporting on pending legislation and keeps informed on all matters affecting agency programs and analyzing new developments for Congressional and Legislative affairs implications. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
