Job Summary

This position is located in the Office of Safety and Occupational Health within Business Operations, Washington Office, USDA Forest Service. The incumbent serves as the national manager for emergency management services for the agency. Job Description

Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-14 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as 3 or more of the following: Planning and/or directing the administrative and functional aspects of a National Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations Program (COOP). Developing and implementing action plans through the full operational phase during incidents and emergency situations nationwide. Developing and/or interpreting guidelines, broad policies, regulations, and directives. Promoted a positive work environment free of discrimination and harassment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
