This position is part of the Southeastern Power Administration. As an Information Technology Specialist (infosec/sysadmin), you will assist and support the members of the Information Management Team for Southeastern Power Administration's (SEPA) Information Technology Division's Chief Information Officer (CIO).

QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS: To qualify for this position, you must meet the minimum qualification requirements as well as the specialized experience requirements outlined below: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADE 09 (GS or Equivalent): You must have Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the following five competencies: (1) Attention to Detail; (2) Customer Service; (3) Interpersonal Skills; (4) Reasoning; (5) Teamwork. GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience for this position is defined as having ALL of the following: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and initiating approved or corrective actions; AND Managing software releases, and controlling system access and security. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary in nature with minimal physical exertion. Occasionally, the work requires lifting of hardware components of up to 50 pounds for installation or testing procedures. Work Environment: The work is performed in an office setting.
