As a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits), you will serve as a senior advisor and project manager overseeing Federal employee benefits and Workers' Compensation programs, providing technical guidance, evaluating program effectiveness, and ensuring compliant, customer-focused HR service delivery.
Job Description
For the GS13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent, performing all of the following: Administering Federal employee benefits and retirement programs including FEHB, FEGLI, FERS/CSRS, LEO, senior executive, TSP, leave, or Workers' Compensation to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policy; AND Reviewing and resolving complex benefits and retirement cases involving service credit computations, eligibility determinations, claims processing, or employee counseling; AND Analyzing benefits or retirement program operations to identify trends, develop recommendations, and implement process improvements; AND Providing authoritative technical guidance and consultative support to managers, employees, and HR staff on Federal benefits and retirement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
