Job Summary

This position is part of the Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security, Department of Energy. As a Budget Analyst, you will independently manage monthly budget execution and formulation activities for EHSS, encompassing the development of AFP changes and the resolution of budget issues through corrective actions consistent with DOE and EHSS policies and federal regulations.

GS-13 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Performing budget analysis for significant programs or organizational units, involving multiple phases of the budget cycle; AND Interpreting and applying financial regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance and resolve budgetary issues. GS-14 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Leading and conducting budget analyses across all phases of the budgetary process for multi-million dollar programs or organizational components; AND Developing, evaluating, and implementing budget policies, procedures, and strategies that have a significant impact on an organization's financial operations and program objectives. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
