Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge or management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more functions managed by a golf course manager. Substitution for General Experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination or recreation and business management. Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant must have specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military golf course operation. The experience must include responsibility or supervision over the various phases of a golf course operation. Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A PGA Class A certificate is desirable. Substitution for General & Specialized Experience: A Professional Golf Management degree from a PGA accredited Professional Golf Management School may be substituted for all general and specialized experience. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
