Job Summary
As an Executive Assistant, you will provide high level executive administrative support and provide a wide variety of technical and non-technical work to fully support the Executive Director. The Executive Assistant acts in a confidential capacity and performs specialized duties with responsibility for processes, projects, questions, and problems within the Office of the Executive Director.
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Coordinating and planning administrative functions such as troubleshooting office support issues, scheduling meetings and conferences, controlling correspondence, and appointment calendars for management; AND Researching and interpreting information needed to prepare reports and responding to requests for information. OR Education: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR Combination: You may qualify with a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then, your education is calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. The two percentages are added together. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
