About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Polar Bowl on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. This is a Regular Part-Time position. Regular Part-Time employees have regular/continuous work schedules of at least 20 hours to a max of 34 hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience that demonstrates the ability to provide customer service in a recreation, retail, hospitality, or similar environment is preferred. Experience handling cash, operating a point-of-sale system, maintaining accountability for funds or merchandise, and applying established cash-control procedures is preferred. Knowledge of bowling center operations, bowling rules, league and tournament procedures, bowling equipment, and lane-care procedures is preferred but may be obtained through on-the-job training. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers; apply facility rules and procedures; perform basic arithmetic; and maintain tactful, professional customer-service relationships. Successful completion of all required pre-employment screening and background-investigation requirements applicable to the position is required. A Tier 1 investigation is required. Incumbents assigned duties involving the sale or service of alcoholic beverages must be at least 21 years of age and successfully complete and maintain all required alcohol-service training or certification.
