Job Summary

About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Buckner Fitness Center Pool and Elmendorf Fitness Center Pool on JBER, AK. Flexible employees have work schedules that depend on the needs of the activity. You may work a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Flexible employees may be subjected to "on call" work in addition to hours posted on the schedule.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: For pool and aquatic center lifeguards: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Individual must have or receive this certification prior to or within the first 30 days of employment. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check(SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC). Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
