Job Summary

About the position: This position will be a Recreation Aid (Lifeguard) assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Minot AFB, ND. This is a FLEXIBLE (FLEX) position. A Flex (Intermittent) schedule does not have guaranteed hours, and you may work 0-40 hours per week as needed by the facility. Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: For pool and aquatic center lifeguards: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. For coastal lifeguards: In addition to the above, must also have surf rescue techniques training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
