Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Minimum 12 months experience managing an aquatics facility is preferred. Must have experience which provides an advanced knowledge of swimming activities, rules, and procedures. Must have and maintain currency in a nationally recognized swim lessons Instructor (e.g., American Red Cross Water Safety instructor) certification and Lifeguard Instructor (e.g., American Red Cross). An approved nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training and pediatric/adult CPR (or equivalent) certification is highly desirable. Pre-employment physical is required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete installation records check and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Performance is measured in terms of results achieved and in terms of success of the total operation to include content and delivery of services, compliance with directives and guidelines, compliance with safety requirements, customer satisfaction, soundness of operations and program performance. Demonstrates and maintains a satisfactory level of knowledge and technical competence in performing assigned duties. Plans and organizes work sufficiently to perform the expected quantity and quality of work within allotted time periods. Maintains reliable and current statistical data and provides accurate and complete budget estimates. Prepares and presents clear, concise, accurate reports. Meets standards of conduct and behavior establish. Actively participates in recruitment and development of staff members. Verifies that fire, safety, and security directives are adhered to be subordinates. Carries out oral and written instructions in an acceptable manner. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Works in a courteous and cooperative manner. Performs routine duties with little need for supervision or assistance. Implements and maintains an effective internal control system to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse. Keeps supervisors informed of progress and advises supervisors of significant developments that may impact plans, projects, or operations. Complies with all directives and regulations pertaining to established Outdoor Recreation program and cash handling" procedures, as required by AF. Safety, resource protection, fire protection, customer service, personnel supervisory course (APF, NAF, and local national), food handlers, and other local, federal, and installation required training.
